“This is one of those rare occasions. The pianist Alexandra Dovgan can hardly be called a wonder child, for while this is a wonder, it is not child’s play.”
— Grigory Sokolov

Despite being only 18 years old, Alexandra Dovgan has already emerged as one of the most closely followed young pianists of her generation. Known as a discovery of Grigory Sokolov, she has attracted international attention through a rare combination of depth, sensitivity and natural musicality.

Dovgan began her piano studies at the age of four and a half and rose rapidly to international prominence after winning the Grand Prix at the Moscow Grand Piano Competition at the age of ten. Since then, she has appeared in many of the world’s leading concert halls, including the Philharmonie in Berlin, the Musikverein in Vienna, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires. Her collaborators have included Gustavo Dudamel, Trevor Pinnock, Paavo Järvi, Ton Koopman and Kazushi Ono.

During the 2025–26 season, Dovgan has made highly successful debuts at Carnegie Hall in New York and the Kennedy Center in Washington, while also appearing as soloist with several major international orchestras.
